SLGFF, Part III

I saw yet another film at the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival this afternoon. This time, I saw Equality U at noon at the Admiral Theater. The film is a documentary about the Soulforce equality ride. I’ve donated to their cause a couple times over the years, so mostly I just wanted to see some more details about the work they’ve been doing.

It was a much different experience than the last two films I’ve seen. There weren’t a whole lot of people there, so there was no line and you could sit pretty much anywhere you wanted. The film seemed to drag a bit at points, but overall I liked it. There were certainly some emotional moments in the film, which was to be expected considering what they did and where they went.

Again, I saw several people I’ve met in real life including a guy I briefly dated in Seattle. That was kind of weird, but it was neat to see video of something I’d only really heard vaguely described before.
