I went shopping for new glasses today after my doctor’s appointment. I’ve been trying to find time for weeks now, but just made time since I was going right by Broadway Vision Source on my way from the doctor to work. I ended up going with some plastic frames that are squarish with a transparent, light gray (”smoke”) color to them. They’re lighter in color and weight than my current glasses. They said it should take about a week to make them.

I should have put more money in my FSA this year. The total price for the glasses is $450 and my insurance will pay a flat $180 of that. I don’t think it’s even possible to get a pair of glasses for $180, at least not with the high index lenses I need for my strong prescription. Oh well. Next year, maybe I’ll plan ahead better.
