The past couple weeks have been kind of a whirlwind for me. I was in Chapel Hill on a college recruiting trip for work from Monday night through Friday afternoon. The weekend before that I was frantically packing (and helping Ben and Jeff move) because I moved this last Saturday. The move went well, but I arrived home at 9pm Friday night only to get up at 8am the next morning to start the long day of moving. The move itself was pretty quick, but I had to meet the landlady to sign the lease, pick up the rental truck and drop off the rental truck too. Afterwards, I was exhausted, but still managed to find the time and energy to attend two parties and go out for birthday drinks. On my actual birthday (Sunday), I moved my dishes and TV from the old place, did some new apartment shopping at Ikea (mirror, bookcase, small end table, and a lamp) and Fred Meyer (dishes, glasses, bathroom rug, shower curtain) and did some unpacking (the whole kitchen, arranged the living room furniture).
I still don’t have internet access in the new place since I’m still waiting for all the setup steps to be completed. Qwest came and tested the line last week, even though they originally planned to do that tomorrow. Covad is supposed to come on Friday morning to do the final install. In the meantime, not having internet access means I can spend more time unpacking and getting through my Netflix queue instead I guess. It also means less time writing proper blog entries, although I can of course still photo blog from my phone.
