Yikes
July 31, 2008 on 12:24 am | In General | 1 Comment No TagsI’ve been really bad about blogging lately. I guess a lot has been going on, but mostly I’ve just been busier at work with the new job and with friends. Again, I can’t go into much detail at all but the new job has been coming along well. I’ve spent a lot of time just getting ramped up and only recently have really been getting my hands dirty in the real day-to-day of writing software. It’s awesome to be back in that place though.
On Friday, I made it to Chop Suey for Comeback which was a good time. The music and crowd were better than last time. Unfortunately, I’ll be missing Bacon Strip in August since I’m going to Vancouver this weekend to visit friends and catch Vancouver Pride.
I’ve been seeing Jason and Sarah a lot lately which is great. On Saturday, we went to Wallace Falls for a hike. It was definitely nice to get out in the outdoors and do a hike.
After the hike on Saturday, my roommate Ben and I went over to the Eagle for underwear night. It was fairly lame, sadly. Hardly anybody was in their underwear except for us. Meh, it was still fairly fun. They really need to eliminate or reduce cover for people who undress in the spirit of the evening though.
Sunday was mostly a recovery day, but I got up early to grab dim sum with Jason, Sarah and their friend Hannah who was passing through Seattle on her way from Juneau to Maine. We did the touristy Pike’s Place Market / Downtown thing afterwards before ending up in Fremont for Gasworks Park, Theo Chocolate, Cafe Ladro and finally Brouwer’s for dinner.

shit but it was tasty.

July 16, 2008 on 5:56 pm | In General | No Comments Tags: biking, travel, workI’ve been off the wagon with blogging lately, what with STP, San Francisco, Guerneville and starting a new job!
Anyhow, things are well. In summary:
1. STP was great. Even though I was sore and tired afterwards, I was definitely less sore and probably less exhausted than last year. I was sort of dreading riding it again this year, but I’m glad I went through with it afterall.
2. The trip to California was a lot of fun. It was nice to get away from Seattle, work and all of that for a week and a half. The drive back took about 15 hours. That sucked, but overall a good trip.
3. I started the new job on Friday (right before doing STP). Because I was on vacation Monday (to get back from Portland without rushing), today was only my third day at work. I’ve unpacked my moving boxes and gotten all my computers set up. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and just trying to wrap my brain around the new project, but generally things have been going swimmingly.
