Telemarketers

So I’ve been getting a call every couple days from 727-569-1515 usually in the late morning for the past 1-2 months. Sometimes it only rings once or twice, so I’ve missed who’s calling. Other times I think I’ve answered and gotten a recording. Today I answered on the first ring and there was actually a human on the line. He asked me something about consolidating my student loans. After informing him that I’ve already consolidated my student loans (twice actually), I began laying into him about his company calling me all the time. I kept getting angrier and angrier. Within like 15 seconds, I was swearing and going off on the guy. Even I’m amazed how mean and angry I was, but they really ticked me off with their incessant calling!
I think I’m still a little shaken up from it even, but maybe they’ll stop calling now.

Hopefully they won’t call again, but, uUnfortunately, they may… I’ve done the same thing with telemarketers (go off on them {grin}), only to find some new gonif calling me a day or two later from the same outfit… If they call again, my suggestion would be to tell them to “take [you] off their list.” If they call you after that, it’s a reportable offense. Good luck with it !!
The same people have been calling me! I’ve been getting calls from that number, usually around 10:00 in the morning. I generally don’t answer (I screen calls on my cell phone if I don’t recognize the number) but the one time I did, the line immediately went dead.
Thanks for confirming that I didn’t want to answer that anyway. And I haven’t had any calls from them this week, so maybe you knocked some sense into them for good!
Ha, how funny. I’ve been seeing that number on my cell as a missed call several moment’s pre week. Thanks for posting this, you guys. That’s great I can do a google search on the number and find this information.
Thanks for posting this. I really appreciate it!
Holy shit they call me too, and the thing is the companies cant even block the damn people! i got kicked out of my class today because the bastard called me!……..
I just got my “first” call from the same f–rs. Ugh. How interesting that when I googled it, I got this blog of other such sufferers. Thanks for a place to vent. BTW, just want to say to Vishai as friendly advice and out of respect for your professors and classmantes, it’s best to keep your cell phone shut off in class. Anyone could have been to “blame” for getting you kicked out of class when, in fact, cell phones aren’t supposed to be on at all.
I just got a call from that number, but didn’t answer. I google searched it and found this post– thanks for posting this, now I know who it was. I wonder how they get our information? I’m going to be pissed if one of my student loan companies sold the info, although I don’t know why they would do that.
::baffled::
Just got the call, found this site. I might start calling their # a few times a day and take an hour or so of their time to discuss loan consolidation, but never bite.
I’m in the same boat as the rest of you. Thanks for the blog.
I’ve been getting calls from that number too, but they never left a voicemail. I was wondering if I somehow missed an important set of calls, but now I know I didn’t. It really is great that I (like the person above) was able to just Google the number and find out what was up.
I started getting their calls too. I was getting spam calls on my old number & switched numbers for other reasons & now these people found me.
Hopefully they will stop calling but I doubt it. Also, I read somewhere that they have a way to make a different number appear on the caller id screen then what their number really is. I just looked on the Web & the same number is also listed for Porn! It may be something if you call them, you get charged a big fee. Ive heard of this. Dont call them!
I have this nasty habit of googling all calls on my cell phone that I don’t recognize….and this 727 number calls me 2 minutes ago and I google it and look what I come across….Thanks for this posting !
I’m in the same boat. I just googled the number and found your blog. Heres a suggestion from a co-worker of mine. Apparently if you answer your phone as a business, or even a, “Hello, this is Peggy”, they have to hang up, b/c they can’t telemarket businesses. Thanks for including the phone number in your blog!
