Back to the Week

In addition to my usual busyness from work, I’ve been occupied with other duties this week so far. Last night, I went to my first OutVentures board meeting, where I serve as Treasurer. I’m still trying to get everything I need to do my job, but it’s been a slow process of changing names over on accounts and tracking down uncooperative individuals (sigh). I’ve also been trying to clean my apartment since Steve is coming to visit for a week. I’ve made progress, but not enough. The fundamental problems are that after a long day of work I don’t ever feel like cleaning and that I’ve been busy doing other things on the weekend. I don’t really have all that much to do, but it still takes time. Additionally, I need to buy the futon mattress I’ve been planning to buy for months, so that he has somewhere to sleep.
At the end of last week, I’m pretty sure I was sick. These days I feel much better. In fact, I feel perfectly fine except for one thing. My voice is still all gravely from some sort of post nasal drip that’s not accompanied by a runny nose. I’m starting to wonder if I perhaps am allergic to something here. In California, I had some slight allergies, but nothing so serious to even warrant an occassional Benadryl. In Germany and in North Carolina, I really had no problems with allergies. I suppose it’s possible there’s something here that’s giving me trouble though. It’s eerily similar to the slight cough and gravely voice I used to get in Germany from spending too much time in smokey bars. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if it goes away. It’s tolerable if it doesn’t, but it is slightly annoying.
