On Sunday, I actually spent several hours cleaning my apartment. I now officially have gotten rid of all my moving boxes. The little picking up and cleaning that’s left can all be done inside my apartment for the most part. Amazingly, I have a lot of empty space again, which means I can resume my hunt for furniture. After the cleaning spree, I went to Larry’s birthday party around 5ish. Around 9, the party was officially moved to the Cuff. Unfortunately, the Cuff was VERY crowded–too crowded really. After tiring of braving the crowd, a few of us headed over to Purr. Unbeknowst to me it was karaoke night. Actually it was coincidentally called “Larryoke” officially, although none of us were sure who the Larry in Larryoke was supposed to be. As you might expect, some of the acts were terrible while others were quite good. In particular, one woman that did Journey’s ‘Separate Ways’ was getting really into it. Larry, Don and Steve did Barry Manilow’s ‘Copacabana’ which was quite entertaining.
Monday morning I got up early to go hiking with Don, Jay, Rex and this guy John who I hadn’t met before. We hiked partially up the back side of Mt. Index first to a waterfall then later to a mostly frozen over lake. I had some trouble getting up the mountain. I just felt weak going up and up. Maybe it’s because my sleep schedule and diet aren’t completely back to normal from Belize yet. Still, I made it the whole way. I took a lot of good pictures, which you can see here.
