Medical Frustration Soothed

Arg. I hate Internet Explorer! Some how after composing this post the first time, I clicked a link and when I came back the form was empty!

Anyhow, after being frustrated about the doctor situation last night and writing that last post, I did some more research online into finding a doctor. Throught the Seatle LGBT Center’s site I found Out in Seattle: Lavender Phonebook, which has a couple of doctors listed near me including some of the ones I called before that weren’t taking new patients. Fortunately, the first place I called this afternoon said they were taking new patients and could see me as soon as tomorrow. Unfortunately, the only appointment for tomorrow (probably a cancellation) was in the afternoon. That would have meant leaving work in the afternoon to drive back into Seattle and then back out to work, which just isn’t worth it. Instead I have an appointment for a week from Monday to finish up my immunization series and go through a standard annual checkup. I also called my health insurance and they said the immunization should be covered in full, which is nice. I ended up paying like $70 a pop at UNC for the first two.

For lunch today, I went to GLEAM’s weekly lunch. I guess the organizer has recently put it on a rotating schedule, where it will alternate between Wed, Thurs and Fri, so that people who have regular meetings on a given day can make it some of the time. That may have caused confusion in that only four people showed up. Still, we had some nice conversations and I had only met one of the three people before. Plus, I got to go buy lunch at a different cafeteria, which has different food.
