I’ve been so neglectful about writing here, since I’ve been so busy. Oh well.
Today my parents dropped by for dinner. They’ve been up in Oregon for the past several days, looking at property and houses there, but were working their way back to southern California. We had pizza at Zachary’s, which was nice. It was great to see them and I hadn’t eaten there in ages.
For the moment, I’m all caught up on CS61B, just finishing tomorrow’s (today’s actually) lecture notes. However, the first exam is on the horizon and I need to start writing that.

Where in Oregon are your folks looking to move?
They’ve looked in several areas. Originally, they were looking at places right on the coast (off highway 1), but they didn’t seem to excited about the weather. This last time, they looked at all sorts of places (including the coast), but also in Bend. My dad really seemed to like Bend. I guess it’s the fastest growing city in Oregon and has a lot of retirees from California there.
I’ve not been to Bend but it seems that Oregon is overall a nice place. The people are friendly and they are extremely cautious drivers… it snows inland and I guess the coast is always rainy/foggy (right?) but I wouldn’t mind living there either.
My mom just retired and they were thinking of moving to Ft. Bragg but once again, the cold weather will keep them in Sacramento.
